The Institute of Environment, Energy and Sustainable Development
was established with the aim of promoting research on environmental
protection, the development of sustainable energy solutions
and the support of sustainable development.
The Institute of Environment, Energy and Sustainable Development was established to develop and promote scientific research related to the sustainable management of natural resources and environmental protection. Its creation responds to modern challenges concerning climate change, the energy transition, and ecosystem conservation.
Since its inception, the Institute has focused on the study of environmental processes and ecosystems, as well as the development of scientific solutions to address environmental issues. Its research covers a wide range of thematic areas, such as biodiversity, natural resource management, and the impacts of human activity on the environment.
Particular emphasis is also placed on research regarding renewable energy sources and technologies that contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. The development of sustainable energy solutions is a key element of the effort to transition toward a more environmentally friendly energy system.
Furthermore, the Institute develops partnerships with research bodies, universities, and organizations in Greece and internationally. Through research programs and scientific actions, it contributes to the formulation of strategies for environmental protection and the promotion of sustainable development.
