Eleni Katsarou is a Professor of Curriculum Theory and Instruction at the Department of Primary Education of the University of Crete. She obtained her bachelor’s degree (BA) from the Department of Philology at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and completed her doctoral dissertation and postdoctoral research at the same university’s Department of Philosophy, Pedagogy and Psychology. Her research and publications focus on instructional theory, educational research (particularly action research), as well as literacy and the teaching of Modern Greek as a first language (L1) within the framework of New Literacy Studies. She is the (co-)author of numerous educational materials taught in secondary schools in Greece.
