Maria Ampartzaki is an Associate Professor of Early Childhood Education in the Department of Preschool Education at the University of Crete. She holds a master’s degree in Music Education from the University of Reading and a PhD from the University of Sheffield (1995). She has worked as a preschool and primary teacher for 7 years and has been involved in teacher training since 2005. Her research interests include science education in the early years, ICT in education, inquiry-based and art-based learning, teachers’ professional development, action research, and the Pedagogy of Multiliteracies, among others.
